How To Adjust Car's Headlights

Headlights get misaligned due to different reasons. This usually happens when the screws get loose and are not installed properly or when you change your car's suspensions or tires. Misaligned headlights can distract the vision of other drivers which can be very dangerous. Alignment of your headlights should be checked regularly.

When adjusting your headlights, you must park your car in a flat, level surface. Better park it facing a wall so you can see the differences. Find the adjustment screw. The location of this part depends on the model of your car.

Make sure the headlight is on when adjusting it. Make a masking tape mark on the wall as a guide. Slowly adjust the screw and see how the light matches up with the masking tape lines you have placed on the wall. Repeat the adjusting on the other headlight.

Your tire pressure might also affect the alignment of your headlight,. Make sure both tires are inflated properly. Finally, check if the headlights are tightly secure. Test drive your car to see how it goes. Repeat the process until you feel comfortable about your light alignment.
